A 1961 Mobylette Moped.

Up for auction with no reserve is a 1961 Mobylette Mobymatic 50cc Moped. It has a current MOT that runs until September 2015. It is also Tax Exempt and eligible for the ?ˆ?Free?ˆ? Historic road tax- which it does have. but is now non-transferable. so that will have to be applied for by the new owner.

The Registration Number is 217 UYJ but is Non-transferable and not shown in the photographs as we had it off to re-weld the back light bracket)!

The Bike does come with a V5 Document.

The bike itself starts and runs well. it has also had new rims. spokes and a rear sprocket fitted fairly recently which would have easily cost over ??200 plus! In addition to this the seat is good. all the tin ware is intact. brakes. speedo. lights and horn all seem to work as they should . though I suspect the Wipac light switch and petrol cap are non-original additions.

It seems to have been a well maintained. functional bike. rather than a pretty. sun shiny day bike. The paintwork is dull and non-standard and the chrome (apart from the rims) is also tired and lifeless. But then it is over 50 years old!

That aside it starts easily. runs well. rides and handles as one would expect and seems an ideal retro runabout for everyday use. or an easy winter project. There is no Reserve on it. so why not just bung on a bid and get lucky!-
