1939 OK Supreme 350 OHV. Vintage Girder / Rigid. Unrestored. Good Runner.

Ultra rare 1939 OK Supreme 350cc machine. This bike is unrestored / unmolested and in good running condition. It has a nice 8 inch headlamp fitted with original electrics on the bike. This machine is unusual as its coil ignition rather than magneto. 1939 was pretty much the last year of OK Supreme production and in the final year or so they switched over to using Matchless engines. This is therefore effectively a Matchless with just a few additional features for the OK Supreme concern. Therefore a lot of the stuff on the bike is fairly available. Its got an Amal carb. Miller electrics. Burman gearbox. Matchless engine. Webb forks. Reynolds chains. so is a machine largely made up of parts that were bought in. and as such is still very much serviceable today.

The bike does need re-registering unfortunately as there is no log book with it. but this is a fairly straight forward process. The bike starts very easily and runs well. Theres no undue noise from the engine or excessive smoke. The bike runs around great and all the lights work. The charge is intermittent at best so that needs looking at and it needs a new advance / retard cable fitting as this sticks. The bike has its original chrome tank fitted original saddle. original exhaust and wheels etc. Its very scruffy but it is totally unrestored so looks fantastic in a way. It has its chronometric speedo fitted as well.

Its an extremely rare machine and would be great to restore or run as is. If it does not sell immediately this time. I am going to get it registered myself and run it.

One bit of good news today. I have been digging around about the registration number today and found out that the bike was registered in West Sussex in 1939. Having contacted their records section. the record for this registration is still available and I am sending for a copy of that record. which will help me to recover the registration on this machine. I have also talked tot he VMCC about it today and there will be no problem in providing a dating certificate. So. given a little time. both the registration record and a dating certificate can be obtain over the next few weeks. Therefore. although this machine is not currently registered. I see that I will be able to get it registered again and there is a high probability of obtaining that original number back.
