1966 Norton N15 C/S 750CC. RARE NORTON / MATCHLESS HYBRID DESERT RACER BARNFRESH

Offered here today is an example of one of the hybrid ( Matchless frame and Norton Atlas engine)models which were produced by AMC (Associated Motor Cycles) between late 1963 and late  1968; the N15 Norton. About one thousand of these particular modelswere produced in both Norton (such as this one) and Matchless ( designated G15CS ) versions between 1964 and 1966.   With the difference between the two designations being whose name was on the tank. these models came to exemplify the term. "badge engineering". This particular machine is fairly original with. of course. the exception of the non original Ceriani 35 mm Motocross front fork. Original forks for these models were similar to the famous "Road Holder" as found on the Norton Atlas of the time. only with two inch longer stanchions (tubes) as well as "Teledraulic" two way damping. external springs and steel covers. Other than that the bike appears fairly intact with many of the really harder to find parts (for these models) present and accounted for. Also please see close ups of various nuts and bolt heads which show very few. if any. wrench marks possibly indicating a relatively unmolested machine.   Other condition points to note are the broken lower fin on the R/H cylinder in the front (see photo). As I mention above this bike was started and ridden (just on local streets) about three years ago by a friend and neighbor who is the owner of  this bike and for whom I am selling it here today. He has owned this bike for about twenty years and will issue to the buyer a bill of sale (only) at the time of sale. Buyer is solely responsible for all shipping/pick up  arrangements and expenses.
